I should expect nothing less.
Yes, she has settled in a basket of clean laundry.

You act as if such behaviour is abnormal for cats :P

It’s an attempt to save you time. If Pumpkin hops in right away you don’t have to wait to put a shirt on to get it covered in cat hair.

Shave the cat and see how it likes being without clothes.

Hah! She’s dpoing what she’s supposed to do. Clean laundry testing. Soft, clean, smells good and not of you. She can get her scents on it! Bonus: It’s not folded yet so anything she does goes further
My Princess Erin is a twin to yours, sir:

The lab/pitbull mix will do this. Fortunately, the German Shepherd doesn’t fit in my laundry basket.

I left my clean laundry in the basket long enough that I had to rewash it to get the orange cat hair off.

Story time again:
My girlfriend in high school had three long hairs. Her mother would leave clothes in the dryer with the door open, then decide things needed a little longer. The floofy male, Buster, would crawl in the warm pile unnoticed and end up getting air fluffed. This happened more than once, so I considered that he deserved it for not learning his lesson.
